My current photographic project is entitled “i am here”.

In the past decade or so, the social landscape has changed, a lot. I'm interested in the nuance of our changing landscape and how it looks - how we look. These images are a search to see and record how we've changed. "i am here" is an ongoing series of images photographed in public spaces of people and their smart phones, interacting on a screen or talking on their phone seemingly unaware of their surroundings. They are often caught in the act of some sort of performance meant to be shared at a later date, or are being shared live, but in each case, these images are simply saying, I am here. These images provocate, they are at once funny and at the same time just a bit horrifying.

My work stems from the genre of street photography. Though my cameras are rather large and conspicuous for today’s standards, they're quiet and make moving through public spaces possible without being noticed. The occasional glance into my camera is as grounding as can be.

You could say I’m obsessed with the smart phone obsession, and I have a great need to record this time in history with beautiful, artful photographs where our collective story is being told.
